Jesus was born into a society and culture steeped in religious tradition where faith in God was inseparably aligned with performance, ritual and duty. And the religious leaders of his day put in place systems and burdensome protocols to evidence the outflow and stature of one's faith.
And they drew their power over the people from that flawed system of protocols by using it as their means of control and authority.
But the Greatest Gift of All - Jesus - was born into our world to free us from all of that. He said:
". . . I have come that you might have life, and have it to the full."
John 10:10
Not only is Jesus the Greatest Gift, but he comes bearing the great gift of fullness of life for all, and it is found in Him alone by inseparably aligning our faith in God with love, rather than ritual and performance.
Our prayer for each of you this Christmas season is that you will be blessed with the fullness of life he offers in remarkable and unprecedented ways in your life.
And we wish each of you and your family a prosperous, joyous and MERRY CHRISTMAS!
